Dance Portrait:

I’m running between dancing bodies. From across the room you begin to run and soon our footfalls arrive in rhythm. Now we lope shoulder to shoulder, dodging and leaping until we plunge to the floor and spontaneously tumble back up to dancing on our feet. Some reptilian brain awakens when we dance energetically. Our reflexes are faster than thought. They keep us safe, keep us alive. When you and I dance our instinctive dance, the “higher” brain yields and becomes quiet. When the right thing happens, the whole body knows.
